Torrie Wilson: People Forget That WWE Is An Entertainment Show

Torrie Wilson was a guest on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio today. She talked to Bully Ray about getting into the WWE Hall of Fame, her accomplishments, and the backlash she saw online.

Check out highlights below:

On her detractors:

I think some of the people that are angry are forgetting that this is an entertainment show. I was not calling the shots backstage going, “Hey Vince, can I wrestle in a bikini tonight?” I was actually out there with Fit Finlay going, “What’s the most athletic match I can put together with a bikini on?”

Her initial reaction:

I was in Arizona a few weeks ago doing a spiritual retreat and Mark Carrano called me while I was in bed. Asked me what I was doing WrestleMania weekend and I thought he was just inviting me out. I already had plans to go to WrestleCon and he’s like, “Well, we might want to invite you to the Hall of Fame.” So, that changed everything.

Her own fears and doubts:

It’s human nature, fear runs our world. Immediately when I hung up the phone, I sat there and put together a list of everything I’m not. Never a champion. I could do much better than my haters at beating myself up. But then I put things in check and I there are a lot of things that I am. I’m not Charlotte Flair. I’m not jumping off ladders, but I am Torrie Wilson, and I did have something to bring to the table.
