After the match, Shayna Baszler and Co. hit the ring and attack Yim. A few NXT trainees hit the ring but are quickly dispatched by Shafir and Duke. Shafir and Duke hold Yim as Baszler destroys her with a running knee.
Backstage, Johnny Gargano is with his wife Candice LeRae. Tommaso Ciampa walks in. Gargano tells Ciampa that he won the North American title on his own so he doesn’t need Ciampa. Ciampa says he will be watching.
North American Championship Match: Johnny Gargano (c) vs Velveteen Dream
Gargano tries a leg trip. Dream stuff it. Gargano and Dream scramble on the mat until they end up in the ropes. Gargano and Dream trade submission attempts. Gargano takes Dream down in a hammerlock. Dream gets to his feet. Gargano tries a hip toss. The Dream lands on his feet and slaps the beJesus out of Gargano. Gargano retreats to the outside. Gargano gets back in the ring. Dream floors Gargano with a shoulder block. Gargano whips Dream into the ropes. Gargano drops down but Dream drops down with him. Gargano lunges at Dream but Dream slithers out of the ring. Dream blasts Gargano with a double ax handle. Gargano kicks out. Dream goes back up top. Gargano trips Dream off the top. Dream hits the mat, hard. Gargano spears Dream in the corner. Neck Breaker by Gargano. Dream kicks out. Gargano works over Dream’s shoulder. Gargano whips Dream into the corner so hard Dream is sent careening to the outside. Gargano chops Dream on the guardrail. Gargano sends Dream back in the ring.
Dream surprises Gargano with a spine buster. Dream lands an ax handle to the outside. After a signature move attempt exchange, Dream drops Gargano with the fameasser. Gargano kicks out. Gargano hits a hangman’s spinning flatliner for a near fall. Gargano tries the slingshot spear but Dream knees Gargano in the head. Spinning DDT by Dream. Gargano kicks out. Dream misses the Purple Rainmaker. Gargano hits a superkick. Dream kicks out. Gargano goes up top but Dream cuts him off. Dream hits an avalanche Dream Valley Driver! Gargano kicks out! Gargano rolls outside. Dream dives off the top. Gargano superkicks Dream in midair. Gargano finally hits the slingshot DDT but Dream kicks out! Dream superkicks Gargano. Gargano superkicks Dream. Dream hits two Dream Valley Drivers. Dream goes up top and hits a beautiful Purple Rainmaker for the win!
