Bully Ray: Everything Dean Ambrose Said About WWE To Steve Austin Was Right

The recent announcement that Dean Ambrose is leaving WWE has had many, including SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, reminiscing about the interview that the “Lunatic Fringe” had with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. During the WWE Network special, Austin wound up telling the current star that he needed to step up in order to break through the glass ceiling. However, Ambrose responded by talking about the creative limitations they have and that there’s only so much they can do. This led co-host Bully Ray to reveal that he agrees with what Ambrose had to say.

“I was backing Dean up after I heard that snippet of the interview,” said the former WWE star. “I was with the WWE when Dean did that sit down [with Steve Austin]. Everything that Dean said to Steve was 100% true. Me and D-Von were experiencing it the same way Dean was and me and D-Von had something to compare it to when it was the wild west and you could do the things that you wanted to and then we were there when you couldn’t do the things you wanted to do.”

The WWE Hall of Famer understands why the two had a different mindset. “Austin [comes] from the era of WWE where there were no rules and if you could get yourself over, you get over,” explained Bully Ray. “He was like, “Come on, kid. You’ve got all the tools. When am I going to see you really bust out? When are you going to have your ‘Austin 3:16′ moment?’ Dean is basically saying, ‘I wish I could, man, but I can’t.’ He was honest, he was truthful, he was right.”
