As reported by PWInsider, WWE had a series of meetings at SmackDown earlier this week in which they discussed new five year deals with a number of superstars. They were predominantly focusing on talent who have deals that expire in the few years, and according to the report, many people backstage were quite surprised to see it all unfold throughout the evening. It seems clear now that the situation with Dean Ambrose, as well as the rise of All Elite Wrestling, is forcing WWE’s hand.
