Victoria On Vince McMahon Turning Down Her Pitch To Let Her Bleed In A Steel Cage Match & Wrestling Inexperienced Rookies

Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria) was recently a guest on the Ring The Belle podcast along with Molly Holly. The former Divas and Knockouts Champion (aka Victoria / Tara) discusses a potential return to the WWE, her tenure with the company, working to get more inexperienced wrestlers over and more.

Check out a few highlights and the full video interview below:

Wrestling inexperienced rookie Divas:

I think our forte was working with the rookies and making them look good; better than they are. We would sacrifice our forms and everything like that just for them to get the big pop and boo us.

Victoria talks pitching to Vince McMahon that she wants to bleed during the first ever Women’s Steel Cage Match:

One day I came to TV, and they were like you have a cage match. And I went “are you kidding me?” We gig our forehead to bleed sometime, and I wanted to gig [during the match]. I would never do it now, but at the time I thought we were so hardcore and we can do whatever the guys do. I went to Vince to ask him and he goes, “thank you Victoria for wanting to do it, but no one wants to see a Diva bleed.” I did ask Lita to throw me as hard as you can against the cage so I can get color naturally.  I didn’t know how to do it, and I got a big knot.

Victoria on hardcore stipulation matches that the current roster of women competes in:

It’s scary to watch. It’s very unpredictable with ladders and tables. It’s scary! I’m older and smarter, and I don’t want to get seriously hurt.

Discussing her potential WWE return, Lisa mentioned:

It is not my decision. They have to call and invite you. I still do the indies and a lot of signings at Comic Cons. A lot of people think I have a choice. The company has to decide. It’s out of our hands.

Lisa her reasonings for wearing a heavy sumo wrestler outfit for one of the Halloween Diva Battle Royal matches:

I don’t mind making an arse out of myself. And I thought that the sumo outfit weighs a ton, and I’m not gonna be eliminated! They are not going to be able to lift me out, and evidently, it took two girls.
