WWE Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy was recently on Lillian Garcia’s Chasing Glory podcast. During the interesting episode, he discussed his relationship with his fiancee, WWE superstar Alexa Bliss, and no longer being with his former teammate, Wesley Blake.
He mentioned that while it’s not ideal to be on different schedules from his fiancee (she wrestles on Mondays while he works Tuesday nights), it’s just something they have to deal with. “It’s only for now,” explained Murphy. He went on to state that they stay close and that they both watch each others work. “[Bliss] helped me how to speak,” explained the 205 Live star. “I try to help her in-ring and she helps me with character [work].”
As far as his split with his former NXT partner, Wesley Blake, goes, Murphy said everyone has their own path. “We had something really good,” explained the cruiserweight king. “[But then Alexa] left and [we] lost the titles. From there we just became the guys that made everyone else look really good.” He said his partner’s success on the main roster was great to see and that she’s “killing it.”
