AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan had their face-to-face as advertised. Although Vince McMahon was out to officiate the proceedings to make sure it didn’t get out of hand. WWE Champion Daniel Bryan opened up by talking about how he wouldn’t get in the ring with a sociopath like Styles and said that he’s going to use his belt for “the greater good.”

“Is the greater good you talking like a jackass?” asked Styles. Bryan responded by saying that while Styles makes the crowd laugh and excites them, he never makes them think. “I’m not the people’s champion,” proclaimed Bryan. “Daniel Bryan is the planet’s champion.”

Vince McMahon had enough of the promo and told Bryan to get in the ring. This led to Bryan giving a passionate promo about how of course McMahon is against it. “It’s like you pulled this incredible magic trick where you’ve [hidden] all this economic and environmental debt you’ve created while they trade Instagram likes!” McMahon wasn’t having it and barked at the champ to get in the ring.

While that didn’t happen, Styles was happy to find a compromise. He told him a face to face could happen outside and quickly started attacking the champion by throwing him into the stairs outside and then getting him in the ring. He nearly hit a phenomenal forearm on Bryan, but the “Planet’s champion” pulled McMahon in front of him. He then hit Styles with a vicious knee and walked away with his belt in tow.
