Vince McMahon: ‘Those That Believe Finn Can Beat Brock Believe In Fairy Tales’

Brock Lesnar and his advocate Paul Heyman opened Monday Night RAW. Heyman’s opening promo gave all credit to Lesnar’s new challenge, Finn Balor. He talked about how he and everyone else believed in Finn Balor because his track record has proven it.

However, Heyman said that his client will “turn Finn Balor into a martyr.” He’ll be sacrificed for the sin of making the fans believe that he could beat Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship. “Here comes your spoiler alert for Monday Night RAW. Even miracles fear Brock Lesnar.”

The Paul Heyman promo was interrupted by none other than Vince McMahon. He said that he felt Heyman had “gone soft,” and that he thought it was “passé” to believe in Finn Balor’s chance. McMahon continued, “If any of you in hillbilly land actually believe that Finn can beat Brock then you definitely believe in fairytales.”

Yet another interruption came in the form of Braun Strowman, who was originally pencilled in to face Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. “What the hell are you doing out here?” asked McMahon. Strowman said that while last Monday was the worst night of his life, but it was the luckiest of Lesnar’s since he won’t have to face him and vowed that he’ll face Lesnar in the future.

Finally, Finn Balor then came down to the ring. Balor said it was the “same old Monday Night RAW” as he beat three other people last week and earned his opportunity to face Brock Lesnar, yet the focus was on Braun Strowman. While Balor admitted that his boss didn’t believe in his chances, he vowed to defeat Lesnar and reclaim his title. He also told Strowman “to keep your nose out of my business” as he’ll do what Strowman couldn’t do by beating Lesnar.

McMahon liked the aggression from both and Lesnar versus Strowman was then made for Monday Night RAW.
