Evolve Wrestling‘s Bryan Idol received quite the honor when he was handpicked by hip hop star A$AP Rocky to wrestle before a sold out Barclays Center crowd at the annual Yams Day celebration. Yams Day celebrates the life of ASAP Mob founder A$AP Yams, who passed away in 2015 at the age of 26.
The wrestling themed event attracted more than 19,000 fans, who were in attendance to see Idol defeat Gabriel Skye (accompanied by Dominick Denaro). Soulja Boy, Meek Mill, A$AP FERG, Flatbush Zombies, Lil Yachty, and many other hip hop notables performed.
During the match, music blared and iconic rappers surrounded the ring. Idol attained victory via the double undertook face buster and was awarded the coveted 2019 Yams Day Championship. A$AP was so caught up in the event that he later hit a stunner on the new 2019 Yams Champion and then dove into the crowd in celebration.
