Today, we know Becky Lynch as “The Man.” However, before her WWE career, she was almost a Viking.

Becky Lynch revealed in an interview with Fox News that she almost joined the cast of the History Channel series Vikings, who thought she was a stuntwoman. Lynch talks about giving up wrestling for 7 years and handing her resume in for this show because it was filmed in her homeland of Ireland:

“Going back to college and studying acting was one of those things,” the Limerick, Ireland, native continued. “I left college and I got my acting degree, and I was looking for work. I handed in my resume and headshot to ‘Vikings’ because they were filming in Ireland.”

“I get a call and it’s from ‘Vikings,’ and they’re like, ‘Hey, do you stunts?’ And obviously, the way my resume read, because I have all this physical experience, they thought I was a stuntwoman!”

Lynch claimed she went to wrestling school for stunt preparation and was all set to come onboard a show that would later feature WWE Hall of Famer, Edge. Ultimately, Becky would join WWE in 2013 and slowly but surely became “The Man:”

“I thought about it for maybe two seconds,” she said about her fateful WWE audition. “That’s it. That’s what I was meant to do.”
