Cody Rhodes: “Anybody That Gets Hurt In An AEW Ring Will Be 100% Taken Care Of”

Cody Rhodes addressed the media last night after the All Elite Wrestling Double Or Nothing rally in Jacksonville and said wrestlers hurt in a AEW ring would be fully covered by the company.

Our own Ross Berman was part of the media scrum in Jacksonville, and captured the following video and comments while Cody and Brandi Rhodes fielded questions from the media:

“I can’t get too specific, but I can tell you straight out of the gate that a lot of concerns the guys have are ‘what if I get hurt in the ring?’ That’s the one thing WWE covers with the Palm co-insurance. We can confirm that anybody that gets hurt in an AEW ring will be 100 percent taken care of by AEW.”

Rhodes also addressed earlier comments about all talent—men and women—having an equal pay scale and evaluating it on a case by case basis. Cody said the promotion’s goal is to raise the profile by raising pay, and that their goal is to be able to care for wrestlers like the television industry takes care of its actors on set:

“My goal—some people know this—I’d like to see wrestling just like the television industry. I’ve done a few bit roles, but that treatment and that care that you get for your time on screen… you have a comparable influence as a pro wrestler, just as recognizable, and you should be just as taken care of.”

Cody also went on to say he hopes more plans for pay and tighten up the company infrastructure can move forward after Double Or Nothing. Check out the full clip below:
