2018 Wrestlezone Year-End Awards – Tag Team Of The Year

2018 was a pretty great year for tag team wrestling. From The Usos and The Bar putting on great matches in WWE to LAX having a memorable run in IMPACT, there has been no shortage of great bouts for fans to watch. However, it was a New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Ring of Honor team that took home top honors in the 2018 Wrestlezone Year-End Awards for tag team of the year.

The Young Bucks wound up getting 34.8% of the total votes, and that was enough for the duo to win the award. It was their first year moving up the heavyweight tag division in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and they did so in fantastic fashion by putting on a match of the year contender against the Golden Lovers (Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi). It was an emotional match that prioritized storytelling over everything else, a brilliant rebuke of all of the criticism lobbied at the Jackson brothers.

Afterwards, they wound up main eventing All In by putting on a fun-filled six-man match where they teamed with Kota Ibushi against Bandido, Rey Fénix and Rey Mysterio. They finished out the year by putting on their final match in Ring of Honor as they had a memorable three-way bout against the Briscoe Brothers and SCU. It was an absolutely brutal match, and the two brothers put their bodies on the line during it.

Congrats to the Young Bucks!
