In the run up to the awards, we’ll be going through the nominees each day. Today’s subject will be: Female Wrestler of the Year.

Becky Lynch

It’s been a breakout year for Lynch. Not only has she put on several match of the year contenders, but her promo work as “The Man” has established her as one of the top stars in WWE.

Ronda Rousey

What a debut year for Rousey. Not only did she debut in entertaining fashion at WrestleMania, but she’s proven herself as a worthy champion that has put on some fun matches against Nikki Bella and Nia Jax.

Alexa Bliss

While she missed out on having her dream match with Trish Stratus due to a concussion, Bliss still had a great 2018. Not only did she do some memorable character work throughout the year, she also had entertaining feuds with Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey.

Kairi Sane

Sane has had a successful year inside the ring as she competed in the Royal Rumble and won the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV. However, she lost the belt at WWE Evolution.

Tessa Blanchard

Not only has Blanchard had a great run on the independent circuit, but she also joined IMPACT Wrestling. She immediately made an impact of her own by becoming the Knockouts Champion shortly after her debut. She’s defended her belt against Su Yung, Faby Apache, and Taya Valkyrie.

Charlotte Flair

Woo! Not only did Charlotte Flair break Asuka’s streak at WrestleMania this year, but she also put on a match of the year contender with Becky Lynch at WWE Evolution. It’s been another great year for the former SmackDown and RAW Champion.

Sumie Sakai

The Joshi veteran made a huge impact in the United States in 2018 as she won the inaugural Women of Honor World Championship. She defended her title against Kelly Klein, Madison Rayne, and Tenille Dashwood before losing the belt at Final Battle last week.

Shayna Baszler

The current NXT Women’s Champion has put on some great matches with Ember Moon, Dakota Kai, Nikki Cross, and Kairi Sane. Her first reign with the belt lasted 133 days.

Of course, these are only a few of the incredible female wrestlers that had a great 2018. As such, you can write-in any wrestler you want for your vote from Asuka to Sasha Banks.
