Daniel Cormier Expected At Tonight’s WWE TLC PPV

Daniel Cormier will reportedly be at the SAP Center in San Jose for tonight’s WWE TLC pay-per-view.

According to a source speaking with Wrestlezone, Cormier is expected to be seated at ringside for tonight’s event. It’s unknown what kind of role—if any at all—the UFC Heavyweight and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion will have at the event, but his name has come up in several reports about his potential future with WWE.

Daniel Cormier was recently linked to reports that he would have a tryout for commentary with WWE after his fight at UFC 230; the fighter made comments himself about the tryout after a scrum for the UFC 230 fight. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio also said FOX was behind the push to get Cormier as a commentator on SmackDown when the show debuts on the network next year. It has been noted that FOX has been looking for more of a sports presentation from the show, and Meltzer noted the network wants to keep Cormier in the mix, as he currently does .

Cormier postponed his WWE tryout after he took on the UFC 230 fight with Derrick Lewis, but told Busted Open Radio that he would revisit the opportunity in the future. He also noted that while he is an avid professional wrestling fan, his interest is in commentary and does not have any aspirations to be an in-ring competitor.

Cormier won his fight at UFC 230 by submitting Lewis in the second round.
