Hi Toni. What are your memories of your first match?

I was 13-years-old and a lot smaller than I am now! I was absolutely terrified and it was in front of hardly any people. I think I got paid with a hot dog and a can of soft drink.

Real talk… Who is the best wrestler in the world right now?

That is such a tough one right now! You’ve got the likes of Daniel Bryan and Finn Balor, but I’ll tell you who’s coming up right now who’s going to take that soon, Pete Dunne! I think he’s on his way to becoming the best in the world. He knows exactly what he’s doing, he’s an absolute professional and has been doing it since he was a kid. He’s just fantastic.

How do you feel about gimmick matches?

When I was younger, and I probably shouldn’t have been doing this, but I was having a lot of street fight style matches. Lots of chairs, street signs, weapons. I did all that as a kid! I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to it, but I was very into it as a teenager! In WWE, I wouldn’t mind messing with some ladders. I’m a little scared of heights sometimes but I wouldn’t mind trying.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received in wrestling?

I’ve been given a lot, but probably the most useful is to look after myself and to take care of health first. You’ve got one body and sometimes I forget that fact, but you’ve got to take care of it otherwise you have nothing.

Finally, inter-gender wrestling – yes or no?

Sure, there’s definitely a place for it. I’ve had a lot of inter-gender matches myself with the likes of Timothy Thatcher, and yes it’s been a lot tougher give the fact they are twice my self, but I love doing it, and I’m all for it.
