New Japan Need To Watch (12/7) World Tag League *No Spoilers*

Show is available on NJPWWorld.com.

FIRST MATCH: Manabu Nakanishi & Yuji Nagata (4 pts) vs. Ayato Yoshida & Shota Umino (0 pts)

I’ll level with you. I know that I promise no spoilers, but I think you know how this match goes. With that in mind, you can go ahead and skip this match.

Need To Watch Rating: (1.0)

SECOND MATCH: Ten-cozy (Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima) (8 pts) vs. Suzuki-gun (Minoru Suzuki & Takashi Iizuka) (10 pts)

I loved watching these old men fight. I wish this match had more stakes, but it was fun nonetheless. Easily one of Iizuka’s best of the tour.

Need To Watch Rating: (7.0)

THIRD MATCH: Suzuki-gun (Zack Sabre Jr. & Taichi) (14 pts) vs. Togi Makabe & Toa Henare (8 pts)

Taichi continues to grow as a heavyweight performer. The match itself is a bit muddled. Pretty skippable.

Need To Watch Rating: (4.0)

FOURTH MATCH: FinJuice (David Finlay & Juice Robinson) (14 pts) vs. The Besties (Chuckie T & Beretta) (14 pts)

Whatever the hell is going on with Chuckie T, its good TV. FinJuice continue to be the best rookie tag team of the tournament. Solid watching.

Need To Watch Rating: (6.7)

FIFTH MATCH: Dick & Balls (Yujiro Takahashi & Hangman Page) (8 pts) vs. Jeff Cobb & Michael Elgin (16 pts)

A solid match that is hurt by commentary continuing to say that Elgin has an injured knee, while Elgin wrestles like someone with two healthy knees. Page & Takahashi have had an underwhelming tournament, so it was hard to light a fire under the crowd.

Need To Watch Rating: (3.0)

SIXTH MATCH: Bullet Club (Jay White, Bad Luck Fale, Taiji Ishimori & Gedo) vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kazuchika Okada, KUSHIDA & Rocky Romero

Solid Wrestle Kingdom teases throughout, but I’ve definitely been saying that for too long for that to help anymore. This matchup has become stagnant. A shame, as it only needed to get through this show.

Need To Watch Rating: (5.0)

SEVENTH MATCH: Winner Advances To The Finals: Los Ingobernables de Japon (EVIL & SANADA) (18 pts) vs. Killer Elite Squad (Davey Boy Smith Jr. & Lance Archer) (18 pts)

These two teams could have a great match in their sleep. Shenanigans aplenty and the finish is an utter shock. Really fun semi-main event.

Need To Watch Rating: (8.7)

MAIN EVENT: Winner Advances To The Finals: Guerrillas Of Destiny (Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa) (18 pts) vs. CHAOS (Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano) (18 pts)

Another reliable pairing. The semi-main and main event both highlight just how talented these four pillars of New Japan’s tag division have been. Definitely go out of your way to check out both matches and the show closing promo.

Need To Watch Rating: (8.6)
