Despite recent reports that Shane Strickland could be joining NXT very soon, it looks like there will be a delay. According to PWInsider Elite, there has been an issue with getting the deal done due to a clause in Strickland’s Lucha Underground contract. This wouldn’t be the first time that a Lucha Underground contract caused a delay for an incoming NXT star, as it had also delayed Ricochet signing with the promotion.
In the meantime, expect to see Strickland stay in MLW past its Miami dates later this month. Until he winds up in WWE, Strickland will remain a star on the independent scene.
