On the latest addition of Talk Is Jericho, former WWE Superstar & current IWGP Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho opened up about the gruesome Nia Jax punch that took SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch out of this year’s Survivor Series, “If you see the punch she [Becky Lynch] took, oh my gosh. It didn’t look like a potato. It looked like a legitimate deliberate punch to the face, but whatever. We’ll hold off for judgment on that.”
Later in the episode, Jericho speculated about any potential heat Jax may face with the WWE, “She did knock the fu*k out of Becky Lynch, so maybe, she might get a little office heat for that. You never know what’s going to happen in the wacky world of WWE.”
Lynch was scheduled to face RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey in a champion vs champion match at Survivor Series; however, the brutal punch she took from Jax will keep her from competing at the event, as WWE is holding Lynch out of the pay-per-view with a broken face and severe concussion. Replacing her will be the woman Lynch defeated for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, Charlotte Flair. Jax will team up with Tamina, Natalya, Mickie James, and Ruby Riott as Team RAW takes on Team SmackDown in a battle of brand supremacy at Survivor Series.
