Cruiserweight Title Match Announced For Survivor Series

Announced on 205 Live earlier, Buddy Murphy will defend the WWE Cruiserweight Championship against Mustafa Ali at Survivor Series.

Ali won the opportunity to face the champion after defeating Tony Nese in a Number One Contender’s match last week. Ali and Murphy have feuded with one another over the summer, culminating in a No Disqualifications match where Ali won. This will also be Ali’s first title opportunity since WrestleMania, where he lost to then-champion Cedric Alexander.

WWE Survivor Series takes place on Sunday, November 18th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Two Big Matches Set For 205 Live Next Week

A huge match with Cruiserweight title implications and a tag team grudge duel have been announced for next week’s 205 Live.

The main event for next week will featured undefeated Lio Rush against Cedric Alexander, who has been in the midst of a slump since losing the Cruiserweight Championship. Alexander nearly pinned Rush in a five-way match a few weeks ago, and Rush has been adamant that he wasn’t going to be beaten.

Another match listed for next week is the unlikely pairing of Akira Tozawa and The Brian Kendrick against Drew Gulak and Gentleman Jack Gallagher. This match was essentially two years in the making, with Kendrick and Tozawa having an early feud in 2016 that included Jack Gallagher. With Gulak and Gallgher turning on Kendrick, he looks to atone for his wrongs while trying to repair a broken relationship with The Energy Monster’ Tozawa.
