The Authors Of Pain would win the RAW Tag Team Titles seven months after their main roster debut, defeating Seth Rollins in a 2-on-1 handicap match.
Rollins would come out on RAW, questioning whether he would be able to defend the titles alone with the Intercontinental Championship. Acting general manager Baron Corbin would force Rollins’ to defend the titles, knowing full-well Dean Ambrose wouldn’t help out Rollins and for retaliation for Rollins’ comments to Corbin’s role at Crown Jewel. Rollins would fight valiantly but would succumb to the numbers of the powerful challengers.

After losing the tag team titles, a broken Rollins was met by a lurking Dean Ambrose, who gave him a Dirty Deeds then immediately left the ring.
