Kevin Owens Officially Out Of Mixed Match Challenge Season 2, Replacement Announced

wwe mixed match challenge

One of the major news stories of the week has been the leg injury of Kevin Owens. Owens reportedly suffered a torn ACL and will be out anywhere between 4 and 8 months. The Marieville Quebec native could potentially miss WrestleMania but he will definitely be missing the rest of the Mixed Match Challenge this season.

Owens was teaming up with Natalya as Team Pawz. While this is bad news for fans of Kevin Owens, Natalya can rest without any worry because a replacement has already been announced and he’s Glorious.

That’s right, Bobby Roode will be replacing Kevin Owens as Natalya’s partner and you have to assume it is as much of an honor for Bobby as it was for Kevin to be a Canadian and get to team up with a member of the legendary Hart Family. This was confirmed through WWE now and WWE tweeted this out within the last hour. The only question left to answer is will Natalya’s cats be getting bedazzled robes courtesy of The Glorious One:

This is the second major injury to force a shakeup during this season of the Mixed Match Challenge and potential shows beyond. Sasha Banks was supposed to team with Bobby Lashley but she was removed due to an undisclosed injury and has been replaced by Mickie James. Lashley was in the ring with KO on Raw when the injury was revealed and could potentially be seen as the storyline cause of the injury. Lashley’s hype man Lio Rush tweeted the following after this announcement:
