#4.) His parents didn’t recognize him at the age of 19

When Andre The Giant had left his home in rural France at the age of 14, he looked to get employed and lead a different lifestyle. At the age of 17, he began in his training in pro-wrestling. Jean Ferré was the name he wrestled under. He had returned to his home at the age of 19, and he had grown so much that his parents were unable to recognize him!

When he revealed that he was a wrestler, his parents revealed that they had seen him wrestle on TV but had no idea it was him.

#3.) He was the first inductee into the WWE Hall Of Fame

When The WWE first started the Hall Of Fame in 1993, Andre The Giant was the first and sole inductee in that class. It should be known that The Hall Of Fame was created for him, as he had just passed away two months prior to being inducted.

However, it wasn’t a major ceremony like how we see it today. It was simply announced on an episode of RAW that he was to be inducted into the newly-formed Hall Of Fame. It was only from the following year onwards that WWE began the larger classes and ceremonies that we see today.

It’s a major gesture from WWE to have created the Hall Of Fame to honour one man who they felt made a large difference. It was only the beginning of many inductees and many years of glory.
