Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle renewed their epic rivalry a few months post-WrestleMania when Kurt Angle returned from injury. Kurt Angle actually managed to win the title back and they had quite the friendly rivalry around that time. At SummerSlam 2003, the two were set to clash heads again at SummerSlam.
This marked the rare occasion where Brock Lesnar would actually tap out. Angle achieved this rare feat in a grueling contest to retain the WWE Championship. It really did feel as though that should have main evented, but it’s understandable since the Elimination Chamber was a special attraction match.
