#5.) Only one World title change has taken place outside of Japan

Being a Japanese promotion, it’s only natural that NJPW caters to their home audience in Japan and have their programming accordingly. All of their big shows and events would normally take place in Japan. But since 2017, things started to change and NJPW felt the need to bring it to WWE and start expanding outside, something which Bushido Road fully backed.

After success in their first G1 Climax special in California, they would return to the United States. But it was in 2019 that they co-promoted a Madison Square Garden event with Ring of Honor. The main event was IWGP Heavyweight Champion Jay White against 4-Time Champion Kazuchika Okada.

It was Okada who defeated the Kiwi superstar, marking the first and only World title change in NJPW outside of Japan.
