2004 was basically less than two years into the Ruthless Aggression Era. Gone were the days of the Attitude Era and gone was the weekly chaos that came with it. However, it was replaced by a new approach featuring newer superstars and exciting times. It was still not PG, as that was still four years away.

But 2004 saw the rise of many new stars, primarily the rise of Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero as champions.
