#5.) Pedro Morales
Not many after his generation heard much about Pedro Morales. Sure, on paper he was one of the most legendary WWE Champions in history, but he didn’t have a lasting impact the way Bruno Sammartino did. Towards the later part of his career, Morales had taken a backseat in the main event picture and decided to elevate the Intercontinental title instead.
While his matches may not have aged well, Morales was timeless and the impact he caused helped elevate the Intercontinental Championship to a whole other level. He had two reigns with the title, one of which was a 14-month reign. His Intercontinental Championship victory also made him the first-ever Triple Crown champion in WWE history.
