5 WWE superstars with most eliminations in a single Royal Rumble

#5.) Shawn Michaels – 1995, 1996

*Tied with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin in 1999

Number of eliminations: 8

Shawn Michaels is one of only three superstars to win back-to-back Royal Rumble matches. The New Generation was Michaels in his prime, and the first of two victories also saw him become the first person to enter at #1 and win the entire Rumble. However,  what should be noted is that Royal Rumbles back in the 90s were generally much shorter. Michaels’ historic Rumble feat at 1995 was just 38 minutes long.

The following year, he entered at #18 and ended up going the distance to win in a 58-minute Rumble match. Steve Austin had the same number of eliminations in 1999, but one could argue that it was a less impressive performance, because he spent a good part of the match being beaten down by Vince McMahon‘s stooges. He still lasted till the very end until McMahon eliminated him to win the Rumble.
