2018 is coming to a close and what a year it’s been for NXT! The yellow brand has continued to improve and this year saw a whole new set of superstars reach main event and rising status. It’s incredible to think of how far we’ve come in the last two years.

Despite the fact that superstars like Shinsuke Nakamura, Samoa Joe and Bobby Roode were making an impact, something felt missing. Triple H himself expressed his disappointment in the product, but he realized what was going wrong. The main eventers weren’t being organically pushed and fans weren’t as invested in their stories.
He then began to slowly push and build superstars. Names like Aleister Black, Adam Cole, Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, etc. all began to rise, but slowly and organically. Once they started building the show around these new crops of stars, things began to change for the better. Each and every Takeover event, fans are left in awe, wondering how they managed to top the previous ones.
In the men’s division, these are the five stars that shined the most.
