Paul Heyman has created a legacy as one of wrestling’s most important figures. He was the driving force behind ECW, a creative game changer for the wrestling business. Heyman always had an eye for talent and in the early 90s, knew that traditional, old-school wrestling wasn’t going to work anymore.
Heyman himself stated that Vince McMahon took his ideas from ECW and labeled it as “Attitude” in a promo before Survivor Series 2001. It certainly would be interesting to see how things would have worked out had ECW not gone bankrupt. Whether you agree or disagree with Heyman’s business decisions, there’s no denying that he’s a creative genius with a special eye for talent.
