Mickie James happens to be her real name outside the ring as well. She got to use her original name as the period of time in which she joined WWE saw a lot of superstars use their original names. However, prior to joining WWE’s main roster, going back all the way to 1999 when she was a valet, James went by the name Alexis Laree. She even had a brief run in Ring Of Honor and TNA too, where she went by that name.
She would go by the same name in OVW as well before it eventually changed to her real name. It worked out well for her as she never had any trademark issues with her name when she signed with TNA in 2010.
