Isenberg Reacts: WWE RAW “No Number 1 Contender in Sight”

Tag Team Cruiserweight Action

Circling around the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, TJ Perkins and Jack Gallagher are involved in a brief feud. WWE RAW featured a solid tag team match, with Aries getting the win over Perkins. TJP, now a heel, needs to drop the stupid music and gimmick. If you want him to be believable and pushed as a heel, dress him like one. Neville changed his music (kind of), his graphics on the screen and really evolved himself in short time. TJP needs to do this if they want it to work.

Austin Aries is such a true professional in the ring. His five-arm shot to end the night is just another piece of what makes him so good. His smooth execution in the ring, his technicality on the mat and his athleticism makes him the perfect opponent for Neville. I can see WWE making a change at the top come Sunday. Would it really hurt Neville if Aries picked up the win? I think, if anything, The King of the Cruiserweights will be able to unleash even more intensity and fury.

However they book it, tonight was solid. It was nothing too amazing, but a segment like this before the top of the hour is a nice change of pace.

Kalisto Wins….But Why?

The Dumpster match was stupid. I will say it plain and simple. Braun lost. Yes, he got kicked into the Dumpster and then Kalisto was named victorious. After the match, he was beaten down and placed in a dumpster. Kalisto was thrown from the stage to the floor, which looks about 2-3 feet. Nothing amazing happened here and it was WWE trying for a third consecutive week to showcase the strength and aggression of Braun Strowman.

Tonight was a swing and a miss. Not good. In fact, it looked extremely fake with no real emotion behind it. A loss is a loss, I do not care what anyone says. There is no need for him to lose and then try to save the night by throwing Kalisto off the stage. Again, let Braun win AND do something physical after the match to set his tone.

This worries me. I worry that Roman Reigns wins on Sunday and Braun Strowman, once again, is used as a filler between weeks where there is no World Champion. He did this with Goldberg and looks to be doing this with Brock Lesnar. I sure as hell hope I am wrong.
