“Rowdy” Ronda Rousey. Who knew that she would have an impact on WWE the way she did. Though she hasn’t outright said it herself, it’s believed that her objective in WWE was not just to live her childhood dream, but also to elevate the status of women in WWE. This wouldn’t be a first for Rousey.

She’s the woman who also lead the way in elevating Women’s MMA. There was a point of time when UFC President Dana White said that the company would “never” have women competing. Later on, Ronda Rousey not only became among their biggest stars, but she was in the top 2-3 PPV draws in the company, male or female.

Though she had a big downfall in the final two fights of her career, her transition into pro wrestling has been seamless. Her legitimate athleticism has helped her pick up in-ring skills quicker than 99% of performers would on that level. She’s hardly been wrestling a year, but she seems more experienced than women on the roster who have been doing it for years.

Sure, there’s a long way to go for her in development, but the heel turn of hers was the latest example of WWE booking things right on the road to WrestleMania. Here are five reasons why her heel turn was a great move.
