WZ Universal Rankings: 2022 Kicks Off With A Major Shuffle In The Top 5

It’s somewhat of a historical moment in the WZ Universal Rankings this week, as Roman Reigns has dropped his #1 spot for the first time since the rankings began in May 2021. Brock Lesnar has overtaken the #1 spot after capturing the WWE Championship and officially realigning himself with Paul Heyman. Also in the Top 5, Becky Lynch has recaptured the top women’s spot as Charlotte Flair being idle causes her to drop a few spots. Rounding out the Top 5 is new #1 contender Bobby Lashley, who is finally getting the match he’s been wanting.

The Universal Rankings will rank the best WWE superstars from the RAW & SmackDown brands every week based on numerous benchmarks. It’s not solely based on wins and losses, but also on the current storylines they are involved in. This includes how much TV time they are getting, how much media attention they are getting, and of course in-ring performance.
