WWE Survivor Series took a noticeable blow last night when it lost its hottest match, a bout between WWE Women’s Champions Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey. Charlotte Flair will now compete in Lynch’s place, as “The Man” suffered a concussion on Monday. While that’s no doubt a disappointment for many fans, it might just be a blessing in disguise in the long-term.

WrestleMania Bound?

The injury has made fans want to see Ronda Rousey versus Becky Lynch more than ever. Not only do people naturally want what they can’t have (as the two are on different brands), but the event has led to some great exchanges on social media. Lynch is standing her ground, and has only become more of a star due to the incident.

In fact, if WWE continues to build to the match over the next several months, Lynch versus Rousey could even possibly be a WrestleMania main event. If done correctly, it’s that hot of a feud. Both women are incredibly popular, and the story makes far more sense now than it originally did when the match was made last month.

Survivor Series Doesn’t Suffer

World Wrestling Entertainment also did an excellent job of rehabbing a messy WWE Survivor Series. By making Daniel Bryan the WWE Champion, we now have a dream match taking place that many thought would never happen after Bryan suffered a potentially career ending injury. However, we’re finally going to get to see Brock Lesnar go against Bryan in what should be a fantastic match.

Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey is also a big match in its own right. Very few people that were going to tune in for Rousey/Lynch are now going to ignore Survivor Series. It’s still a strong card with some incredible matches, and it will be an interesting look towards the future of WWE programming.

As Sampha sang on his great song “Indecision,” sometimes you just need to “let it all work out.”
