Deborah Ann Woll Will Play Karen Page In Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’

In 2003, a pre-”Grey’s Anatomy” Ellen Pompeo played Karen Page in the Daredevil feature film. Despite Karen Page’s prominence within the Daredevil comics, the character had only a small role in the film. But that will change in the upcoming “Daredevil” series from Marvel and Netflix.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Deborah Ann Woll has been cast as Karen Page in the “Daredevil” series. Karen Page works alongside Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) in their small law firm and she will be the female lead on this series.

Karen Page first appeared in Daredevil # 1 back in 1964 and she was Daredevil’s first love interest until she was written out of the title in 1999 by Kevin Smith.

Woll is best known for playing the vampire Jessica Hamby on “True Blood” for seven seasons, but she has also appeared in Highland Park, Ruby Sparks, “CSI,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “The Mentalist.”

Rosario Dawson will also have a role in “Daredevil” that has not been revealed yet by Marvel. Former “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” star Vincent D’Onofrio will play Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin of crime. Peter Shinkoda was added to the cast earlier this week in the role of Hachiro, a character that appears to be an original creation for the show.

“Daredevil” is currently filming in the New York area and all 13 episodes will premiere on Netflix in 2015.
