Two More Werewolves Tear Into ‘True Blood’

Although the fifth season premiere of “True Blood” is still over half a year away, one thing is clear: There’s going to be a lot of werewolves coming to Bon Temps next season.

According to Deadline, Kelly Overton and Louis Herthum have signed on for recurring roles in the fifth season of “True Blood,” with Overton set for six episodes and Herthum on board for five episodes.

Overton will play Rikki, “a dirty, beautiful werewolf” who is looking for answers about the fate of Marcus Bozeman; the former packmaster who was killed by Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello) during the fourth season. Herthum will portray “a large Marine-type werewolf” who refuses to follow the new leader of the pack. Both Overton and Herthum have options to become series regulars in “True Blood” season six.

Among genre fans, Overton may best be known for playing Christie Monteiro in the “Tekken” live action film (pictured above), in addition to her appearances on “NCIS,” “The Practice,” “Without A Trace,” “Criminal Minds,” “Psych,” “Numb3rs” and the upcoming TV movie, “Ricochet.”

Herthum costarred for five seasons on “Murder, She Wrote,” in addition to roles in numerous films and TV series, including  “Breaking Bad,” “The Riches,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “The Defenders” and “The Gates.” Herthum also appeared in the “Tekken” feature film and he will have a recurring role on A&E’s upcoming series, “Longmire.”

Overton and Herthum join the previously announced additions to the cast of “True Blood,” including Dale Dickey (“My Name is Earl”) as Annie, the werewolf mother of Marcus Bozeman, Lucy Griffiths as Nora, the vampire sister of Eric Northman; and Valentina Cervi as the ancient vampire known as Salome.

“True Blood” will return to HBO in the summer of 2012.
