Carmen Electra, who featured in the original Baywatch, offered Brooks Nader advice about filming the revival. In an interview with Deadline, Nader revealed, “She said how much hard work you have to put into it and how physically taxing it is on your body, and she was totally right.”
Electra played the role of Lani McKenzie in the original Baywatch series, which ran for 241 episodes. She appeared in the eighth season of the show, which had 22 episodes. She also guest-starred on the spin-off series Baywatch Nights and featured in the TV movie Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding.
The 2027 revival of the franchise continues the story of the original, but it is not a direct sequel. Stephen Amell stars as the lead character, Hobie Buchannon, the son of David Hasselhoff’s iconic Mitch Buchannon, and the current captain of Baywatch. Joining him is Brooks Nader, who plays fellow lifeguard Selene. The cast also includes Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, Shay Mitchell, Thaddeus LaGrone, and Noah Beck.
Stephen Amell & Brooks Nader weighed in on original stars returning to Baywatch
Alongside the new cast members, several actors from the original Baywatch will also appear in the revival. Amell revealed a few names but kept others confidential to avoid spoiling the show. He and Nader shared their thoughts on original cast members returning for the Baywatch reboot.
Amell said, “We would love for anyone from the original show to come to the reboot at any time. It’s not my decision. It’s not my call. It’s above my pay grade.” Brooks Nader added, “All are welcome.”
The show will feature Erika Eleniak and David Chokachi, who are set to reprise their roles from the original series. Additionally, Michael Bergin and Kelly Packard are reportedly scheduled to make guest appearances. Eleniak portrayed Shauni McClain, Chokachi played Cody Madison, Bergin took on the role of J.D. Darius, and Packard featured as April Giminski.
Baywatch will premiere on Fox on January 6, 2027.
