Bizarre Fox TV Show With Steve-O & More Celebrities Gets Season 2 Renewal

Fox just greenlit a bizarre TV show for a second season. The series Nation’s Dumbest, which features celebrities like Steve-O, is returning with a sequel season, bringing back the celebrity competition series with a twisted premise.

This news was reported by Deadline, months after season 1 debuted on July 15. The first season scored a sweet 2.3 million total viewers over its first seven days, making it the network’s biggest summer launch in four years. In the upcoming season, celebrities will once again compete to get eliminated.

The first season included the likes of Elle King, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Andrew Yang, Carmen Electra, Jon Heder, Ice-T, Matt Leinart, JoJo Siwa, Anthony Michael Hall, Hilaria Baldwin, Chase Hudson, and Steve-O. It remains to be seen who gets invited to season 2.

The unusual TV show has a competition where losing is the ultimate goal

Nation’s Dumbest is the opposite of an ordinary reality TV show, as it features a competition where losing is the ultimate goal. If anything, it is the first television show where the loser is the winner.

In this Fox series, celebrities fight it out to be eliminated from the competition as quickly as possible to avoid being crowned the nation’s dumbest.

The show features celebrities ranging from influencers to wrestlers to comedians and even politicians. They face a series of physical and mental challenges that test their knowledge of things everyone should know.

Michael Thorn, president of Fox Entertainment Network, said, “The smartest thing about Nation’s Dumbest is that it never forgot the assignment: to have universally relatable fun. Blending Jack Whitehall’s wit with a class of celebrities fully committed to the joke made for a standout summer hit. Our partners at BBC have constructed an original format that’s entertaining, accessible, and distinctively Fox, so a sophomore season was a no-brainer.”

Ryan O’Dowd, President, BBC Studios Global Productions Los Angeles, added, “Fox has a long, distinguished history of broadcasting cultural milestones. I’m so proud to say that Nation’s Dumbest is not one of them. We’re thrilled by America’s response to the first season and so happy with what Jack and our entire team brought to life. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Fox on a new season that’s even dumber, even bigger, and even dumber.”
