Mark Wahlberg’s Brother Donnie Reacts to Las Vegas Plane Scare: ‘These Pilots Saved Our Lives’

Mark Wahlberg‘s brother, Donnie Wahlberg, took to Instagram to address an incident aboard a private jet he was on. Donnie credited the pilots for saving the passengers’ lives.

In the video that Donnie posted to Instagram, he said, “We were taking off and didn’t get up in the air and ran out of runway. I’m just going to tell you these pilots saved our lives. And God covered us… We just finished praying, and I looked out the window and said, we are not getting up in the air today. But we’re safe and thankful, and all is well.”

The FAA shares details about the plane’s aborted takeoff and runway incident

The plane, a Dassault Falcon 50 bound for Toronto Pearson Airport in Canada, was scheduled to take off sometime before 11 a.m. on October 18. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, eight people were aboard the flight with Donnie when the pilots decided to abort the takeoff.

The plane then left the runway and skidded into a fence. Harry Reid International Airport reported no injuries (via People). Donnie also confirmed the plane avoided the heavy vehicles stationed near the runway.

The reason for the aborted takeoff is currently under investigation. The incident caused a ground stop at the airport, after which staff inspected the runway. The airport reported that it inspected two runways linked to the incident.

Donnie Wahlberg first sent the video to his family and friends. However, in its caption, Donnie stated, “I appreciate your concern and well wishes. I made this video for my friends and family after the incident, but so many of you all are my family too, so I figured I’d share with you.”
