John Cena made sure to make his 17th appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon extra special on Tuesday. In a recent interaction, the 17-time WWE champion had a major surprise for The Tonight Show host.
Although John Cena has frequented The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon throughout his Hollywood transition, the superstar saved his best gesture yet for host Jimmy Fallon. Exchanging brief pleasantries, the 49-year-old actor produced a custom-made WWE championship belt designed specifically for Fallon before strapping it around the host’s waist in a viral segment.
As the audience burst out applauding in appreciation, Cena revealed how he specially customized the side plates of the WWE championship belt. The Peacemaker star also had some tips and tricks for holding the championship belt.
He demonstrated to Fallon how the belt can be kept on the shoulders while sitting down. Overwhelmed by Cena’s surprise, the 52-year-old said, “This is perfect. Are you kidding me? This is so perfect… My name is on this belt. I’m not taking it off.”
The John Cena surprise was only one part of a memorable Tonight Show appearance
The custom belt wasn’t the only highlight of Cena’s visit to The Tonight Show. To make the moment complete, the WWE world champ channeled his inner ring announcer to give Fallon a full arena-style entrance.
Cena enthusiastically took up the role of ring announcer and had a perfect moment with the late-night host. He helped Fallon put on the belt and then took the microphone and announced, “Introducing, hailing from parts unknown, weight currently unknown. He is the ‘Tonight Show’ universal champion. Ladies and gentlemen, Jimmy Fallon!”
As the custom-made WWE belt declared Fallon the “Tonight Show Champion,” he just could not hold back his excitement. After his grand entrance following Cena’s announcement, Fallon exclaimed, “This is unbelievable. You’ve outdone yourself. This is real.”
