Horror icon and host Joe Bob Briggs is officially back with a new project, but it’s definitely not what his fans expected. His latest outing involves a monster-hunting adventure filled with B-movie horror.
Drive-in star Joe Bob Briggs will be seen in an upcoming comic book series, MonsterVision. Slated to release in December 2026, it also features Darcy the Mail Girl.
Readers will get to witness several Easter eggs and a game-changing revelation that will turn their classic dynamic on its head. The comic series comes from Dynamite Entertainment’s writer David Avallone and artist Edu Menna.
“Joe Bob looks like he’d be perfectly comfortable starring in a Western: he’s square-jawed, handsome, and tall, but he channels that into something subversive,” said Avallone about Briggs joining the comic series. “That’s something I can easily understand and get into.”

The TV series was revived for a modern audience in 2018 on Shudder, titled The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs. The show ran for seven seasons, and its finale premiered earlier this year.
Created by John Bloom, Austin Jennings, and Matt Manjourides, the reboot proved even bigger than the original, earning a near-perfect IMDb rating of 9.4 out of 10.
