New underworld action show starring Christopher Lee will hit Netflix today. The latest Taiwanese project is set in an underworld dominated by temple culture.
According to an update from Netflix, The Fixers will be making its worldwide premiere on September 17, 2026. The action-comedy series is directed by the 96 Minutes fame Hung Tzu-hsuan. The project is co-directed by Henri Chang, who is known for his work in Copycat Killer. Benjamin Lin and Cora Yim are the executive producers.
Speaking about his expectations from The Fixers, director Hung told Netflix, “After watching The Fixers, I hope viewers will find themselves looking for a secret entrance to Ching He Temple whenever they visit a temple and wondering whether lighting incense sticks might bring someone to help with their troubles.”
Apart from Lee, the cast includes Shou Lou, Regina Lei, Fu Meng-po, Tou Chung-hua, Chang Yung-cheng, Kelly Lin, and more.
How Ching He Temple powers The Fixers’ secret underground network
The plot revolves around Felix Chiang, portrayed by Lee, who is a gangster struggling with debt. Hoping to leave the criminal world behind, Felix is instead recruited by Ching He to become a Fixer. The Fixers operate from the Ching He temple, which portrays Taiwan’s traditional temple culture. In the narrative of the series, the temple is not just a place of worship but is also the secret headquarters of the Fixers.
The synopsis of The Fixers, per Netflix, reads, “Felix Chiang, a debt-ridden gangster facing a midlife crisis, is unexpectedly recruited by a mysterious organization known as Ching He to become a Fixer. Operating in plain sight from the century-old Ching He Temple, its members discreetly solve difficult problems for criminals, political figures, business elites, and anyone else unable to handle matters themselves.”
The synopsis further states, “Felix is paired with Louis Hsueh (Shou Lou), the arrogant scion of a political family. The mismatched duo clash at every turn, while the enigmatic Fixer Mina Shen (Regina Lei) repeatedly complicates their missions. As they struggle to find common ground, Ching He’s longtime rival, Yeh Yueh Tong, joins forces with other factions in an all-out bid to destroy the underground order Ching He has upheld for a century”.
