USA Network has released the first trailer for The Rainmaker Season 2, and it confirms when Rudy Baylor’s legal battles will continue. The courtroom drama, based on John Grisham’s bestselling novel and executive produced by Jason Blum, will return this fall.
Following the latest trailer drop on YouTube, the release date for the popular John Slattery show has been set to October 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on USA Network.
Slattery returns as powerful attorney Leo F. Drummond. The first season became USA Network’s most-watched original series debut in seven years. Season 2 looks ready to raise the bar, with Rudy Baylor (Milo Callaghan) facing bigger cases and more dangerous opponents.
His work with J. Lyman Stone and Associates also puts him deeper into a world of corporate power and corruption.

What happens in The Rainmaker Season 2 trailer?
The new footage shows Rudy reuniting with firm head Jocelyn “Bruiser” Stone (Lana Parrilla) and paralegal Deck Shifflet (P.J. Byrne) for another major case. This time, hundreds of children could be affected, forcing the team to take on powerful interests while dealing with threats outside the courtroom.
The trailer also introduces Merle Dandridge as Amanda Vonn, a formidable attorney who quickly becomes a new rival for Rudy. Her arrival brings Sarah Plankmore (Madison Iseman), Rudy’s former law school love, closer to the upper levels of the legal world and hints at a larger conspiracy.
Meanwhile, Bruiser’s problems involving the mob continue to complicate matters, while Slattery’s Drummond remains an influential figure in the background. The ten-episode season appears set to combine courtroom battles with personal conflicts and a much larger mystery.
The trailer gives viewers a first look at Rudy’s latest case and Amanda Vonn’s arrival ahead of the legal drama’s return.
