Emily Watson is reprising her role as Valya Harkonnen, a leading member of the Bene Gesserit in Dune: Prophecy. Set thousands of years before Paul Atreides’ story, the show focuses on the formation of the Bene Gesserit while exploring the history of the powerful Harkonnen family.

Although the details of the second season are currently under wraps, Watson has teased what lies ahead. The actress revealed scenes aboard a spaceship, describing the experience as a “true departure” for her. She added that it was “really good fun.”

Discussing her return as Valya, Watson shared what made the role exciting for her. The actress said she felt a “sense of being on a quest in a way that actors always get to do and actresses don’t. And that was just fun.” Her comments suggest that Dune: Prophecy Season 2 will expand both the series’ scale and her character’s journey. The upcoming season looks set to push her into bigger, more adventurous situations.

Emily Watson also teased details of season 2 and said, “There are a lot of new elements, really interesting and intriguing things […] I think my head will blow off if I mention any of them.” Though she didn’t reveal any specific information, her comments about the spaceship suggest that the series will explore more of its sci-fi world while still focusing on Vanya’s political and personal struggles.
