David Tennant has joined the cast of a popular Netflix TV show. Tennant is no stranger to starring in beloved television series, as he’s widely known for playing the lead character in Doctor Who for a time.
In addition to Doctor Who, Tennant played Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Kevin Thompson/Kilgrave in the MCU Jessica Jones TV show, and Crowley in Prime Video’s Good Omens. He recently had a role in the 2025 The Thursday Murder Club mystery movie and has voiced characters in projects like Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, Spidey and His Amazing Friends, and more.
What Netflix TV show has David Tennant joined the cast of?
Tennant just recently appeared as a character named Gianpiero in the final scene of The Four Seasons Season 2. Gianpiero serves as a love interest for Kerri Kenney-Silver’s Anne, who decides to move to Italy at the end of the new season.
Speaking with ComingSoon in an exclusive interview, co-creator Lang Fisher confirmed that it’s their intention to have Tennant play a major role in The Four Seasons Season 3. The Four Seasons Season 3 has not yet been officially confirmed by Netflix at this time; however, Fisher also said they’ve already started developing the project.
“That’s what we’re hoping for,” Fisher explained. “Yeah. We just started Season 3, the writer’s room, a few weeks ago, and that surprise new friend is in the group now. So we were very excited to have him appear, yeah, that’s kind of our big cliffhanger in it. It’s another way that, like this group that’s been together forever, is now changing up with a little bit of new blood.”
Based on an 1981 Alan Alda movie of the same name, The Four Seasons also stars Tina Fey as Kate, Will Forte as Jack, Colman Domingo as Danny, Marco Calvani as Claude, Erika Henningsen as Ginny, and Steve Carell as Nick.
The first two seasons of The Four Seasons are now available to stream on Netflix.
