Some bizarre new details have come to light regarding Tom Hardy’s potential firing from MobLand Season 3. The actor was reportedly fired from the Paramount+ show last week, though reports have since emerged stating that there’s still a possibility he could return.
MobLand is a British crime drama television series created by Ronan Bennett that premiered on Paramount+ in March 2025. The show was renewed for another season in June 2025, though a release date for the series’ second chapter has not yet been announced.
The Hollywood Reporter previously stated that Hardy’s future on the show is “very much in limbo” after he was reportedly clashing with producers on the series. Other outlets reported that Hardy had been fired from the show, though THR stated that is not yet accurate, though there “are definitely ongoing discussions about the possibility.”
What is the update on MobLand Season 3?
According to the latest report from The Hollywood Reporter, Hardy doesn’t appear to have been officially fired from the show as of yet.
Some new details, however, have emerged about Hardy’s behavior on the set of MobLand Season 2. One anonymous source told the outlet, “[Hardy] refused to come out of his trailer for hours at a time…He kept the cast waiting, [which is] a power play. Keeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and others waiting is career suicide, I would wager.”
The article further explains, “It remains unclear exactly what keeps Hardy confined to his MobLand trailer. A Puck News story reported that Hardy was also attempting to alter dialogue and provide script notes to Butterworth and creator Ronan Bennett. Clashes with A-listers such as Brosnan and Mirren, however, do not help Hardy’s reputation for being infamously tricky to work with.”
The Hollywood Reporter’s article states that some of the indecisiveness about the decision of whether or not Hardy should be fired has to do with the fact that the show has not yet been officially renewed for a third season. If a renewal does happen, it could begin filming this September; although, again, it remains to be seen if Hardy will return.
