Quentin Tarantino Will Make Two More Films Before Tapping Out

Unlike his immortalized characters, Quentin Tarantino is only a mere mortal which is why it should come as no surprise that the dude has plans of retiring one day. What is a surprise, though, is that it may be very soon with the famed director suggesting he may only have two more films up his sleeve.

Speaking to a crowd in Jerusalem to present a screening of Pulp Fiction, Tarantino addressed an array of topics on his career and body of work. Previously, he’d mentioned plans to only make 10 films. With The Hateful Eight coming in at well, eight, that means we just have two more offerings from the price of gore.

“I’m planning on stopping at 10. So it’ll be two more.” he re-affirms, before completely nose-diving the theory altogether:

“Even if at 75, if I have this other story to tell, it would still kind of work because that would make those 10. They would be there and that would be that. But the one he did when he was an old f—ing man, that geriatric one exists completely on its own in the old folks’ home and is never put in the same shelf next to the other 10. So it doesn’t contaminate the other 10.”

So after his 10 movies, there’s every chance that he’ll just go on making more films, maybe. Basically, true to his style, we have to expect anything and everything.

Variety has highlighted some other interesting tidbits from the speech, which saw Tarantino discussing inter-textualisation of his films, insight into the logistics of previous films including Inglorious Bastards and his favorite character of all.
