JD Vance Accused of Being ‘Disloyal’ to Donald Trump for a Reason

A Fox News panelist has recently questioned JD Vance‘s loyalty to Donald Trump. The vice president blamed the Iran War for Republican midterm losses. The comment sparked an on-air debate about Vance’s political future.

Fox News panelist calls out JD Vance over his post after midterm election

The criticism came during a post-election edition of Special Report, where Washington Post columnist and conservative commentator Marc Thiessen called out JD Vance for publicly separating himself from the Iran War — a conflict the vice president had backed in the past.

Earlier that day, Vance had laid out his explanation for the GOP’s midterm defeat, pointing to the war and the economic strain that accompanied it. “The real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone,” Vance wrote on X. “The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night.”

Thiessen, who supports the military campaign and focuses on foreign policy, pushed back, describing Vance as “disloyal” for his remarks. “I was kinda shocked by that statement Vice President Vance put out. Quite frankly, it was disloyal to the president of the United States.”

As per the report, Donald Trump seemed to recognize the war’s drag on MAGA turnout on Wednesday afternoon, further noting that “it drove the gasoline [prices] up a little bit.” Still, the president did not criticize the conflict, saying, “If I had to do it again, I’d have to do it again.”

So, Thiessen maintained that the vice president should avoid splitting with Trump over such a central matter. “I didn’t see him say, ‘Donald Trump is one of the most courageous presidents in my lifetime because he took this very difficult political decision and put the country ahead of his own political interest’…. All I heard was, ‘We lost because of the Iran war,'” Thiessen said. “Why is his vice president saying something different?”

The midterm aftermath has put the Vance–Trump dynamic under scrutiny as Republicans weigh how to move forward.
