The Christmas at the Kringles Parody Popcorn Bucket Is Festively Unhinged

Christmas at the Kringles, the upcoming genre-bending horror comedy from Briarcliff Entertainment, has unveiled the first look at its parody popcorn bucket. Given what we know about the movie, the souvenir offers the perfect tease for its weird and unusual narrative.

Why the Christmas at the Kringles popcorn bucket fits the film’s strange holiday premise

Christmas at the Kringles recently revealed its popcorn bucket. It is a Jingles gimp mask that seemingly parodies similar face wear that appears in traditional horror movies. Additionally, the image featuring the popcorn bucket reads, “Get ready to have a ball.”

On their official social media, Briarcliff Entertainment noted, “The Jingles collectible popcorn bucket dispenses butter from its Christmas Ornament ballgag.”

Kevin Lewis, whose previous credits include Andrew Jackson White Elk and Willy’s Wonderland, directed Christmas at the Kringles from a script by Zack Imbrogno. The movie’s logline reads, “The Severson family move to a suburban neighborhood where their next-door neighbors, the Kringles, celebrate Christmas year-round. But when their son becomes increasingly attached to the unusual family, Mark and Julie begin to suspect that their neighbors aren’t quite what they seem.”

Further, Christmas at the Kringles has a star-filled cast. Some of its members are Ron Livingston as Mark Severson, Rachel Bilson as Julie Severson, and Thomas Lennon as Nick Kringle. Donald Faison also appears as Daryl.

While there is some interest in Christmas at the Kringles ahead of its release, the feature has garnered largely disappointing reviews from critics. Derek Smith of Slant Magazine shared, “The haphazard plotting, world-building, and character construction could have been overcome had the film delivered on its promise of being either amusing or scary.”

Ultimately, as always, the eventual fate of the movie lies in the audience’s hands and how they respond to it. Christmas at the Kringles debuts in US theaters on October 30, 2026.
