Fans witnessed a surprising cameo from Bill Maher in a recent TV show. Maher’s cameo in The Terminal List Season 2 may not have happened without Chris Pratt‘s help.
In a recent interview with ComingSoon‘s Tyler Treese, showrunner David DiGilio explained how Maher landed the cameo. When asked about the backstory of how Maher got involved with the project, DiGilio gave all the credit to the Guardians of the Galaxy actor. DiGilio said Pratt personally reached out to Maher about the cameo.
The Terminal List Season 2 showrunner stated, “David DiGilio: It was incredible. Thank you. And we can thank the man behind you, Chris Pratt, for reaching out directly to Bill Maher. I believe he may have traded a podcast performance to get Bill Maher to perform in our show.”
He also added, “We brought a small crew from Canada to work with our existing crew in Los Angeles. It was great to be able to shoot part of this show back in L.A. Bill was incredible. We did it right at the end of a taping. Constance jumped in there. Our other actor jumped in as well. And the man who just nailed his lines, Mr. Bill Maher, was incredible.”
What did Constance Wu say about Bill Maher’s role in The Terminal List Season 2?
In The Terminal List Season 2, Maher appears as himself, hosting Real Time with Bill Maher. In the same interview, American actress Constance Wu shed light on Maher’s role. ComingSoon’s Treese praised the scene in which Wu’s character, Katie Buranek, appears on Maher’s show.
Reflecting on the scene, Wu said, “Well, let me tell you, Bill Maher was really good at acting. He was completely off-book. He wasn’t nervous. He wasn’t anything. He was just himself, like how he is on the show, and he was great.” She further stated, “I think it makes sense that a character that is going through something like Katie has gone through would go on shows like that. And she’s also writing a book, so doing things like that as promotion for a book.”
The Terminal List Season 2 premiered on Prime Video on October 21, 2026.
